‘Gutes kind, Liebes kind’ – Old German Folksong
This old German folksong ‘Gutes kind, Liebes kind’ is rarely found in the German communities. It is here sung by Meta Neuendorff who I recorded in 1997. Meta was then aged 93 years and learnt this song from her ‘mutter’ as a child in the early 1900s. Meta lived all her life in Marburg, on the eastern edge of the Lockyer Valley.
